Scientific Software Engineer - Simulation & Signal Processing
Treble Technologies
At Treble Technologies, we are pioneering the future of sound. Our cutting-edge simulation and audio data platform is transforming audio AI and how sound is incorporated into the design of the physical world. Our customers include many of the world’s leading and most prestigious companies across AI, consumer electronics, pro-audio and the building industry. Together with them, we are improving global well-being and connectivity through better audio intelligence and sound experiences.
Founded in 2020, Treble is a fast-rising, highly ambitious audio technology company that has quickly earned global recognition for its technology and vision. Backed by strong funding and multiple international awards, we have assembled a world-class, international team and are now entering the next phase of our expansion.
As Treble enters the next phase of its scale-up journey, we are looking for a Scientific Software Engineer to help evolve the core of our simulation platform. This role focuses on building and maintaining the fundamental simulation and signal-processing technology that powers Treble’s products, translating advanced acoustic models into reliable, production-grade tools used by leading companies across the audio and technology industries.
About the role:
As a Scientific Software Engineer, you will join our Core Engine team and work on the heart of Treble’s simulation platform. This includes developing and maintaining our state of the art acoustics simulation engine, post-processing pipelines and SDK and web application integrations. Your work will sit at the intersection of physics, numerical methods, and production-grade software, turning advanced models into reliable tools that solve real problems for end users.
You will collaborate closely with other engineers, researchers, and product teams to ensure that our simulations are both scientifically sound and practically useful. This role is for someone who enjoys building robust systems, understands the trade-offs between ideal models and real-world constraints, and takes pride in making complex things work well at scale.
Your tasks include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining core components of Treble’s simulation engines, including wave-based and geometrical acoustics solvers, data and signal processing pipelines and our user facing SDK.
- Contributing to research and development of state of the art methods for acoustic simulation, numerical methods and signal processing.
- Translating physical models and numerical methods into efficient, maintainable, and rigorously tested, production-ready software
- Working closely with teammates to balance methodology, performance, and product requirements
- Interfacing with customers as second level support debugging, validating, and improving simulation results in collaboration across the organization.
What we are looking for:
- Someone with solid software engineering expertise and a rigorous scientific background in areas such as acoustics, applied mathematics, seismology, electromagnetics, or closely related fields.
- Several years of experience developing complex (scientifically oriented) software systems.
- Experience in working with languages such as Python, C++ and/or Julia
- Comfort working in a commercial environment, aligning end-user needs with scientific rigor and technical constraints
- A thorough and pragmatic team player who knows when to dive deep into a problem and when to ask for help or involve others
- A results driven candidate with a passion for science and software. Values reliability, predictability, and producing impressive results together with our team, and our customers and end-users.
Nice to have:
- Experience with numerical methods, simulation engines, or high-performance computing
- Familiarity with time-series analysis, differential equations and/or spherical harmonics
- Background in acoustics, signal processing, or audio-related technologies
- Experience maintaining or evolving long-lived codebases used by external customers (e.g. maintenance of an open-source software package)
- Familiarity with validating scientific software against measurements or reference models
If you enjoy working at the intersection of advanced research and production software, and want your work to power state-of-the-art audio and simulation systems used across the industry, we would love to hear from you. Even if your experience does not perfectly match every qualification, we still encourage you to apply. You may be a great fit for this or other roles at Treble.
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation, including stock options
- Challenging and meaningful work at the cutting edge of acoustics, audio AI, and simulation
- Collaboration with world-leading customers and partners building next-generation audio systems
- A key role in shaping how our technology is used in real-world applications
- Highly flexible and family-friendly work environment built on trust and autonomy
- Strong team culture with high ambition and collaboration
- Competitive benefits and first-class facilities
- Comprehensive relocation package
