About Again

At Again, we are advancing a new industrial era. AI-powered biocatalysts. No oil. No sugar. By combining millennia-old bacteria with cutting-edge technology, we turn waste gases into the products that matter.

We have raised over $100m in funding from both top investors such as Google Ventures or HV Capital, and leading grant funding programmes such as European Union’s Horizon 2020. We are a growing team of experienced scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs from the DTU, Stanford, MIT (and more) who are passionate about revolutionizing the chemical industry.

We are leading the positive shift. Showing people that our world does have a future. If you think we're doomed – think Again.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an intern/thesis student to work on a metabolic modelling project. The work can focus on model reconstruction and curation or data integration and analysis with the aim of informing metabolic engineering and process optimization strategies. There is flexibility for tailoring the project based on previous experience and interests, and depending on the length of the internship, there may be room for additional side projects or project expansions, e.g. combining the model with omics data.

If you have a strong background in computational biology and would like to do an internship with us, but not necessarily on a metabolic modelling project, feel free to send us your application anyway and let us know about your interests!

About you

  • Undergraduate degree in a subject with both data science/coding and biology component (e.g. computational biology, bioinformatics, bioengineering with comp bio focus)

  • Currently enrolled in a university degree program or graduated recently (within the last year), available to work full-time for a minimum of three months and willing to be based in Copenhagen during that time

  • Coding experience in R and/or Python

  • Familiarity with metabolic modelling

  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work independently as well as collaborating with engineers and scientists across dry- and wet lab

  • Preferred: previous computational biology research experience outside of coursework (e.g. internship, student assistant job)

What we promise you:

  • You get to work with a group of passionate scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs working on challenging and meaningful projects

  • This will be the journey of a lifetime – we are pioneering a new era of industrial manufacturing using biotech to make clean and resilient supply chains, and you can play a pivotal role in making that happen

  • We live by our company values: Relentless Grit, Unreasonably Ambitious, Unconventional Thinking and Critical Urgency

  • An engaging, empowering and ambitious work environment.

  • Assistance in relocating

If you have questions regarding the role, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out at careers@again.bio. We look forward to hearing from you.
